JESUS, THE ONLY HOPE FOR MANKIND!
A christian is constantly bombarded by most non-christian friends, with a question why do you say, Jesus is the only God. Most of them also try to enforce their believes on us or make us buy their ideologies quoting, all Gods are one, love is God, it’s true there is a higher power but we don’t have to acknowledge this power to be Jesus and many more. When such arguments are put forth, let me tell you, why we should certainly turn a deaf ear to them and not compromise on the only truth that, Jesus is the only real hope for mankind.
Every man born into this word, lands with a huge baggage of sin, passed on from his great grand dad, Adam. Being heavy with this baggage, every man struggles to find his identity as a creation of God. Where sin exists there is no place for the holy God in his life, yes there’s a wall between him and God the father. This makes a man highly discontented with life despite being filled with everything the world can offer. This vacuum within can be filled only when, man’s strained relationship with God is bridged back. Amidst this hopeless situation, there is one person who volunteers to bridge the gap, yes; Jesus becomes man’s only hope. The only lamb destined by God, to take the sins of the world and yield himself as a sacrifice to free us from the curse of sin we are born with.
The next reason that justifies my statement is, though a man earnestly realizes his need for God in his life and seeks after Him, there is no hope for an infinite man to find the finite God with his efforts. Man begins to build the tower of Babel, shoot rockets to the sky, and explore the galaxies with satellites ultimately to fail in his efforts to find God. At this situation of absolute shutdown, there comes in Jesus promising, “I am the way, the truth and the life and no man can reach the father but through me”.
In every man there is a hidden risk quotient that makes a man to sin, this component in his body called the flesh that yields his body to sin against God. Despite man’s best efforts to conqueror this component in his life, unless there is an unleash of power from his maker, he will never be able to overcome his flesh that causes him to sin. Whereby to combat this crisis again Jesus rushes in and turns our full-stop into a comma by saying, Oh, Wretched man! I can free you from this body of sin and present you untainted before the king.
In a world where integrity, love and tolerance are terms unheard of, falling away from such moral codes is quite a child’s play. Where does the hope of forgiveness for these deeds prop from, does man have to eat the fruits of his pitfalls as long as he lives and even through eternity? In this case Jesus assures us no rejection, there is plenty of forgiveness with Him, His mercy and compassion to forgive knows no end.
Men generally love to be led or like to have a role model basis on whom they can mimic their life. If we begin to contemplate over every individual person a man begins to fancy as a perfect human, there would exists a bunch of concealed territories in their lives, where we would never want to zoom in. Nevertheless, with Jesus the more we begin to explore Him, the more we get to be transformed into His spotless image.
Today, though man is not willing to accept Jesus as a Saviour, Life-giver and God, aren’t His mercy to offer us freedom, forgiveness, kindness, power and acceptance to the chained, unforgiveable, rejected, cruel humanity like us compelling enough to yield our lives to Him, as an ultimate hope?
